A high-voltage DC contactor should be specified from the DC bus, load duty, control supply and switching conditions. The headline current alone does not identify a suitable contactor. Start by separating the main contact record from the coil and auxiliary-contact requirements, then request the exact model documents for the proposed configuration.
RITOKS publishes a Kontaktor DC untuk Pengalihan Tegangan Tinggi family. The ZUT200-P product page is the current public product reference used in this guide. Its documented family values remain attached to that product record and should not be generalized to every DC contactor.
DC Contactor Selection Factors at a Glance
| Faktor | Masukan dari pembeli | Exact evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| DC bus | Nominal and maximum operating voltage | Main-contact voltage rating for the exact model |
| Load duty | Continuous current, inrush and switching conditions | Contact duty, switching-current conditions and application data |
| Kontrol | Available coil supply and control sequence | Coil voltage, polarity and control requirements |
| Feedback | Need for auxiliary status contact | Exact auxiliary-contact configuration and wiring |
| Pemasangan | Mounting, terminals, environment and enclosure | Outline, wiring, temperature and installation limits |
Keep Main Contact and Coil Requirements Separate
The main contact carries the switched DC circuit. The coil is the control input that actuates the contactor. A request that says only “200A DC contactor” leaves the control supply, contact form, voltage range and switching duty unresolved. Record these fields separately in the RFQ.
For the published ZUT200-P family, the page identifies a 1 normally-open main contact, a 200A rated main-contact current and a 12–1000V DC rated main-contact voltage. It also identifies a 9–36V DC coil range, with 12V and 24V noted as common values. These values are product-family evidence for ZUT200-P and are not a universal DC-contactor rule.
Confirm the Auxiliary-Contact Configuration
An auxiliary contact can provide a separate status or interlock signal, but its presence must be tied to the exact orderable configuration. The ZUT200-P family page lists ZUT200-P without an auxiliary contact and ZUT200-P-H with one normally-open auxiliary contact. Ask the supplier to identify the exact model suffix and provide the corresponding wiring and outline documentation.
Review Switching Conditions Before Comparing Current
Continuous current and switching current answer different questions. A contactor used in a battery, DC bus or power-electronics circuit may face inrush, capacitive charging or another transient condition. State the load type, expected inrush, switching frequency and whether the contactor is used for make, break or isolation duty. Do not infer a complete switching approval from a continuous-current headline.
The ZUT200-P page publishes a maximum switching-current field of 2000A at 320V DC and notes “one operation or more.” Treat that wording as the product page states it: an exact documented field requiring review against the project duty. It is not a general short-circuit interruption claim or a substitute for coordination evidence.
Installation and Environmental Inputs
Record mounting space, terminal arrangement, conductor routing, enclosure conditions and operating temperature before the model is approved. The published ZUT200-P page lists dimensions of 80.3 × 56.9 × 72.5 mm and an operating-temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. Verify the exact configuration, installation orientation and surrounding thermal conditions with the current documentation.
A Practical DC Contactor RFQ Checklist
- State the DC system voltage, polarity and maximum operating voltage.
- Provide continuous current, inrush or capacitive-load conditions and switching frequency.
- Specify the required main-contact form and whether an auxiliary contact is needed.
- Provide the available coil supply, control sequence and coil polarity constraints.
- Ask for exact contact duty, switching conditions, endurance and coordination evidence.
- Request the exact model code, wiring, outline, mounting and environmental documents.
- Keep certification, standard and revision-controlled documents attached to the quoted configuration.
Evidence Boundaries
A product image, a matching current number or a similar enclosure does not prove compatibility. The responsible technical team must review the actual DC bus, fault conditions, switching duty and protection coordination. If a required field is missing, record “Confirm exact model datasheet” instead of filling the gap with a generic value.
