Voltage Drop
Review a preliminary conductor voltage-drop estimate from your circuit and cable data. Confirm final limits against the applicable installation requirements.

Enter circuit data
Use conductor resistance and reactance from the selected cable or manufacturer, not an assumed universal value.
Method and limits
The estimate uses steady-state AC load current and user-supplied conductor resistance/reactance at operating temperature. It assumes a lagging power factor, a single-phase circuit or a balanced three-phase circuit, and no upstream voltage drop.
- Enter one-way route length; the single-phase formula includes the return path.
- Use line-to-line nominal voltage for three-phase; supply voltage for single-phase.
- Review starting, harmonics, installation conditions and permitted limits separately.
